think of Cg Industry in the Middle East?
As Always in about every thing at Middle
East I have to say we have lot and lot to cover we have baby CG industry
still and the Problem is all of our cg artists in the Middle East are self
thought as much as I respect that I'm one of this guys this isn’t enough
cg is hard thing to learn maybe is the hardest thing I have ever
learned it needs more academic way and in the end its all
about money give me money give me staff and am going to make
any thing for you no
one this days have the determination to know no one welling to spend 12 hours day to
learn something
as an Arab
Artist Imagine with me if 3ds max was in Arabic how many people in USA will
learn it
got the point you will always have to double the effort to catch
up .
10) Do I need to know how to draw if I were to be good at
3D Computer Graphics ?
It's an important thing lot of people says
no you don't have to be good at drawing to be good at Cg yes its True but
from my point of view Cg is an Visual Art for Sure drawing will help at
least you will think right about how to make things before you actually do
them or how to add more details to your work Etc … in short yes it help
If you can Draw and if you want to improve your work learn how
to and if you don’t then its ok .
11) What is your relation with CGtalk.com?
well am kind the oldest Arabic guy been
there I have lots of friends there all of them not Arabic how sad is that
I was bit known there from long time but now I'm not I didn’t post any
thing serious there for 2 years now or so had some cool post there in the
past they are very Old now its great place to be and to learn Cg and its
amazing how many people are there Sure you will find Help there.
12) I don’t have a powerful pc and I don’t have money to buy one can I be
CG Artist?
Well don’t worry its not about your pc I
had 450MB 64 MB of Ram 8MB VGA can you imagine that 8 MB and I did ok
for sure it is the harder way and let me put it is this way you
have bicycle and Mercedes car both will go From A to B but in the Mercedes You
will Arrive Easier and Faster
bicycle will make it too but you will need
some Effort with that but the Important thing Keep Trying never Give Up
any 3d package has a lot of features to boost the performance and if you
know how you can tweak your performance to the best you can almost do
any thing but as I said It will need most of your effort may god help you with
the render time .
13) Is the Render Important and which Render I should use?
I often get that A lot (is the render
Important??) and I always respond to that (are you mad) Render Is very
Important and its an art form , render can make your work look ok or
look great All of us know the sphere photo that comes with max with the 3
RGB wall amazing render (still scanline render) this piece doesn't have
any thing but Simple Sphere and simple box with 3 Red and blue and green
maps and good render,
About which render you should use I cant
tell you that it’s a hard thing to say I use Vray and I Cant
Believe the awesome renders from other software makers its hard to say for Sure
but the fact is its all about the Artist any how Render have lot
more than good looks some times the render time more Important than the 100% accurate rendering because if
you were dealing with deadlines and clients you have to make Sure that you
get fast render time to be able to confront the production pressure if you
were doing Still image you don’t care about the render time that much but
if you will do 400 Frame Animation you will have to care Because the sec
here will make deference every sec u save for frame u save 6 min of your
render time

Ok we can't say who is the best of whom we
see every day great pieces of Art with all this programs I got MAYA and
did some stuff with it it’s a great Program make no mistake kind hard to
learn but oh my you can get some very good stuff with it I use max too
for sure its my main 3d Package I don’t know why I love it who can Explain
love its something you just do
Assuming that you are working
freely and the Choice here is only due to personal prospective let me tell
it by a simple example Violin is great
Phenomenal instrument in my hands Violin is very scary thing
because I cant play well but in the hands
of Hans Zimmer this is not Music its a sound with colors I cant
describe it.
Its all about the artist and this is the most
definite Rule try every 3d package you see and you will
find one you will like
you will have your reasons which will be very
good for you and not so great for the others
16) What to do to get CG job in Middle East?
It's so simple there is no company in the
Middle East As I know has modeling department or any department for that
matter its simply chaos you have to know every thing about any thing
that’s one you have to have good Demo reel your work will speak for it
self for Egypt my Country you have to be at Cairo Because it’s
the work center of our nation in every thing Lebanon
and
Dubai showed us lately some colors but its hard to say what to
do there

I think it was cinema Movie "El
Rays Omar Harb" about 4 long weeks
Still Image it was out doors ad took about 18 hours
19) Why you don't right in Arabic in the Arabic forums
I
don't have any problem to write in Arabic in real life but with
the keyboard am so slow soooo slow and am sorry for that am
trying to be faster at that but it will take some time and I
don't have lot of that and sometime I do work with computers
doesn't support Arabic so excuse me when writing in English I'm
working on my Arabic keyboard writing Skills

Think About Dubai
Scary Fast but kind cool . its shaping to be a beautiful
country maybe more modern than Spain or Australia don't be
fooled though its not even close to any one of them
Crisis Update :I like Dubai lot but in this dark time am
consider going back to Egypt very much but I believe am not done
with Dubai tell now .
