Glow
For more Information about this
phenomenon in real life and how to do it in 3ds max I couldn't find any any
better than
Neil Blevins's Article about this
Issue its good read
http://www.neilblevins.com/cg_education/specular_bloom/specular_bloom.htm
about my way which using Combustion 4
to achieve the Specular Bloom
1- when you done every thing and you
are ready to render just hit F10 and chose to make your render output in RPF
Format

2- for the RPF format save Options I
keep every thing checked every layer give me more control over my renders so why
not keeping every thing checked that's maybe you will need this layers in future
so you don't have to render all you renders again

3-go to Combustion chose Open menu ->
Open -> Open your File then you have dialog asking you about lots of stuff we
will chose for now 2D Composite it will serve our demonstration well for now

4- from the workspace chose your
footage the Right click -> add new operator -> 3d Post -> 3D Glow Look to the
next Picture

5-Tweak your 3d Glow operator Until you
get you desired result Just play with the controls its very easy as you can see

6- Glow source Option is very Important
its the way the program knows which object/layer it will work on so keep this in
mind if you don't get any result doing all that then maybe because Glow source
in not closed in the right way the help in Combustion got some useful
information about this subject please check it for more information
